公司印章、沒有證據 - 古德明
問：公司印章叫seal還是chop？要說「蓋印」，應用什麼動詞？
答：公司印章可以叫company / corporate seal或company / corporate stamp，例如：He stamped the document with the company seal / stamp（他在文件上蓋上公司印章）。Seal和stamp二字有時通用，但seal多指壓出凹凸圖形的印章，stamp印出的圖形則沒有凹凸。
Chop指seal或stamp都可以。這個字出自印度語，西方英語國家一般不用，只是在印度、中國等地區流行。
問：There is no direct or indirect evidence / There are no direct or indirect evidence / There is neither direct nor indirect evidence（沒有直接或間接證據）這三個說法，哪個最好？
答：兩個單數或不可數（uncountable）名詞用and接連，配複數形式動詞；用or接連，則配單數形式動詞，例如：（1）The old woman and her cat were both alive（那老婦人和她的貓都活着）。（2）The chairman or deputy chairman was responsible for this matter（這件事是主席或副主席負責的）。讀者示下的第二句，以複數形式動詞配direct or indirect evidence，文法並不正確。
其餘兩句，沒有上下文，不能說哪一句較好，只能說第三句較為強調兩種證據都沒有。
